"Police Abuse First Hand"

Although somewhat disturbing, watch this video and see some police abuse first hand. Since when are taser guns used on the harmless and already restrained? In my topical research I stumbled across an excellent resource where Americans who have been abused by police can go for support, information, or simply to file complaints. In addition, it is a non-governmental and non-profit police complaint center.

Perhaps we should require police officers to keep their jobs by running in elections voted on by the people of the neighborhoods they patrol. This initiative was part of Jello Biafra's campaign platform for mayor of San Fransisco. The political activist was only 21 at the time of the 1979 municipal election. And yet, this initiative would still be an excellent strategy today. The inclusion of free, open to the public debates in these elections would be important. The media can distort the debates in their reports, but your view of the debate can not be distorted if you can ,and do, attend it.
